Actually, they usually aren't that hard to fight. I think if they "jump around" like you say, its because of lag, and a way to help that is to disable all applications (not the background ones, unless you are sure you can disable them) but no apps like WMP, MSN Messenger, Aim, Skype, XFire, TS and so on.
