Why can't everyone just be content with the layout we've already got? We're losing F1 now with 1.8, how many other freedoms do we need to sacrifice to make a few people happy? Just play the game and have fun! If you want one char delete your other ones, but I'm still going to have all 21 of mine and I will use them as I see fit within the rules! @Privy: if you'd like FAM ask me in PM or email and I'll send it to you.

Why is this a problem? If you want to play the game a certain way that's your business, but the rest of us are entitled to play the way we like. We all want to have a good time. If I had one char though, all I'd be able to do serverside would be to babysit my clansystem. That doesn't sound particularly entertaining. The present system works well - there's nothing to debate about it. If you want more ships get a second account and some credits (neither cost real money). I traded dozens and dozen…

The RP of multiple chars (both online at once or from one account to another) can easily be explained as the player representing multiple pilots. One person can't be in two different places, but if one person represents a squadron rather than an individual the player can achieve much more. Gunny, OP, is this some kind of sick joke? There's absolutely no logic whatsoever in supporting this. This kind of punishment to players will have negative impacts that heavily outweigh the good for most peop…

Bah, well the reality is what would I do? Leave? That'd be even more of a joke - no matter how strict the rules become CF is CF. I'll go along with whatever ends up being forced on the rest of us, but if it's going to happen at least give us a few weeks' notice so we can scrap our chars instead of have them deleted - that at least so I can rebuild a clan RP more fitting for this scenario (poor logistics, lone-wolf combat, and without any of the fancy CPFD-UAC RPs). I suppose by the way if we're…

Well, my logic for earlier in the week was that I was working, and at the present it's the fact that there is no point in being serverside progressing characters if they're going to need to be destroyed later on. On the other hand, since most people are thinking about this the way Huor is maybe I should stop paying attention to something that isn't going to happen and just go back to playing? Lol, what an amazing thought!

OP already said he isn't going to force the policy. I don't know what the effects would be if it were applied, but for now everything is staying the same, and when 1.8 comes out we'll see if the F1 limitation ends some of the RP evasion. If things go terribly wrong someday then we can all play chess (CF-styled or not), but there's no sense worrying about it now.

@ Mu La Flaga: I never use missiles in PvP. I'll cede that I'll often spam torpedoes and mines, but my primary weapons are always my guns. People used to use fewer missiles and the PvPs involved more skill, lasted longer, and were less expensive. When people spam missiles at me I just spam CDs and CMs back... if I can't beat a person the next best thing is to make them waste as much ammo as possible. @ Op: I agree. One of the most fun parts of FL is to fly with one of your comrades and experien…

If we're going for missile realism a ship should be able to carry ammo that takes up cargo space (10 space apiece?) - on the flip side, missiles ought to track a lot better and move faster. Maybe I'm completely wrong, but in a traditional, RL sense missiles resond like CF mosquitoes, hit as hard as sunslayers, and take up a lot of room of a fighter's racks. If such a thing were done though, mines, torpedoes, and CDs would have to be seriously screwed around with too. Alternatively, there's also…

Simba: I'm not actually being serious. Things are probably fine the way they are... but since was sort of a non-issue to start out so this thread can't really digress much further. burro: I'm glad you've caught onto my sarcasm and are pitching in. [rofl] @Az: we might still talking about chess, but with the use of lots of metaphors.

For people thousands and thousands of miles away from the server there is a definite disadvantage in combat, but this doesn't really impact the gameplay on the macro scale imao. Sure we can't always win because munitions don't track as well or there's more jumping so things are harder to hit with guns... just yesterday I noticed that my countermeasures don't really help me get hit be missiles less often. It really doesn't matter though! Those who are good at PvP overcome the problems presented …
