i use rapid fire only on NPC-s because in PVP i don't get it working (too many finger moves at once). especially on fast moving NPCs it is helpful to shoot with 16 or more shots per second instead the max. 8.33 provided by the guns. this works like a shredder on NPCs and btw. even if i dont use rapid fire in PvP i can proudly say, that i am one of the best PvPer at this moment (ok, in fact, there is not much PvPing anymore on MP )

rapid fire does not increase the refire rate per gun. it increases the total refire rate by desynchronizing the times of shooting of the guns. as example: u have 4 guns with each 2 shots per second, means one shot in 1/2 second. without rapid fire all 4 guns shoot always at the same time and this twice per second. now with rapid fire u can desync these shooting times and if u are good u can shoot up to 8 times per second. the right desync would be then 1/2/4 means 1 shot in 1/8 second means 8 s…

the damage per gun and shot stays equal. and if u are a good aimer and all your shots hit your target without rapid fire, then u don't even need rapid fire. rapid fire is helpful with very quick targets, such as Xenos in Starfliers. another example: if u have a battleship u might scream if u realize that another quick-moving player in a VHF takes u out and u don't even hit him with your slow refiring turrets. one of the less things u can do here is increasing the total refire rate with rapid fir…
