Totally agree with you.The rate of shield & hull regeneration totally unbalanced the game.It makes it boring (because each mission take way too much time if you manage to succeed) or just too hard. Seems at least giving the choice to the player would be a good idea. Too bad, this mod look so promising with so much work...
