  • I tried installing and running the Crossfire MOD on a friends computer today. His computer is running Vista. I received an error that said that there is a component missing. Is this common for Vista user who try run the Crossfire MOD? Maybe I messed it up myself just like him. I'm not sure. But I don't think so. I installed the same mod on my computer under Windows XP. And it's working fine. I don't get any errors. I think the error message sad that component "MSI....OCX". It was MSI something …
  • Thnx for the responses guys. I might be over at my friends house later this evening. I'll try registering the component like you said. As for PCForce, how do I contact him. Starchild
  • No Tyrael. Crossfire works fine on my computer. I run XP. It's my friends computer that is the problem. I'm sure I can fix the problem with the help of google. But I kinda need to be behind the actual computer that has the problem. It's just that I can't really concentrate over there lol. Not only that, but my friends computer is a mess. Like you've never seen. So that's why I'm hoping to find someone who already knows. I think it's just a few files that is needed. And maybe some windows settin…

It's Crossfire that doesn't work properly under Vista. And since Crossfire isn't an official Microsoft MOD, don't expect Microsoft to release a patch for it anytime soon. I mean really, why rele…
  • The error message is the same. It doesn't change. Even after registering the components. I registered both the MSINET.OCX in the Windows System directory, and the one in the Freelancer EXE directory. I even downloaded the file and copied it to both directory's, and registered them again. The same error message pops up. It says the component is either missing or not registered. Damn Vista.
