  • I'm not at all savvy with measuring temperature in celsius so all the numbers are in fahrenheit, but it was a very warm Christmas here in Montana. It was around 40 degrees and there were patches of ground without snow. I remember back when I was younger and lived in Minnesota there'd be a meter of snow outside and it'd be 20 or 30 below zero.   • There would be a delay I would think. The ice isn't melting all at once, but rather gradualy. Various stages of global warming could take anywhere from a few years to dozens of millenia. Scientist theorize all sorts of things, but we really won't know what will happen until it does. If another ice age settles in though most of us would be pretty screwed regardless of where we live.   • Lol, OP's right you know. The world will get by - even recover - from just about anything imaginable that we can do to it. People don't worry about global warming because of the planet though, they worry about it because of the fate of humanity. I'm sure everything will be peachy... just not for as many people as we would hope
