I have a bullpup III. When a freighter dies it loses its ammo for munition-based weps, its mines, countermeasure flares, cargo, and unmounted items, but not anything that requires attaching. What probably happened is that after buying the ship he forgot to attach the generator. The first time he died then it was dropped as loot.

Lol, I think I have a vague childhood memory of watching that movie. I can't really imagine it on a big screen though. If I had been around back then I probably would have either been terrified, laughing my arse off (I tend to view ancient special effects as humor), or both. A movie is a movie though so it's all good fun
