Python is very good passengers hauler and this is probably the most efficient way how to regularly increase assets. Use economy or business cabins like here: Coriolis EDCD Edition . If you can engineer some ship parts, it for sure will help.

Money wise: the best are passengers transports (i.e. from A to B). There is enough of them and payment and offers are going better with your higher reputation to local minor factions. For allied factions there also can be find 4-5M paid delivery missions (like haul 120t of battle weapons to ... ) which are also nice income.
