To bumb up this discussion getting the CODE ffffffffc0000005 [E000000D3]I've more or less tried every solution here with no success. Game simply won't launch.However one thing to be noted is that launcher will always attempt to download 38 files if I choose to update the singleplayer game. Update on my problems: It turns out at somepoint in time, directplay had disabled itself and that is what ultimatetly causing the crashing. Now the game is launching just fine.
