No. I have also tried compatibility settings- No luck What bothers me is that even reading from the disk is not working and that leads me to think it is deeper than just fonts , there may be an API reason why this is not working. I will report as soon as I know something. Kind regards

SUCCESS The NVIDEA drivers that is installed with the Release of Windows 8 is not right. After downloading the latest released version from NVIDEA website, Freelancer is happy again ... and so am I.

Yes CF and W8 is right... The NVIDEA drivers released with W8 is the problem. Kind Regards
