Definitely not a correct Patriot texture for sure. Could it be it was a mistake and nobody noticed until now? I do that all the time, sometimes the obvious is the most difficult to find. I remember when i was doing the Coalition ship pack, it's easy to put the wrong texture on, sometimes the wrong one actually looks right.

Yes, would seem that's the case. Had a look at your patriot and compared it to mine, identical. Maybe sharing a name on one of the groups in the mat file with another Alliance ship?
