Once you took out an npc's shield, it comes back quite fast, like 4-5 seconds later. not only the short time but also it comes back almost at FULL CAPACITY when it regenerates themself. On the other hand, we can not really tell if they used batts bring the shield back up or if it did regenerate itself. In case they use batteries.
