The problem is that when you trade diamonds from one place to another then you will cause a commodity restrain on diamonds on one side. This will cause price increase for this good. Depending on how much you trade the prices for the normal folks could rise enormously. So they getting mad at you - even across factions (etc. their friends kinda snow ball effect) Just a guess although honestly i have no clue
