I was talking about the country and it's internal lawmaking policy, where the Turkish military (among others) takes care (so to say) not to let Turkey become an Islamic republic under Sharia law, like Iran or Pakistan, for example. My point was not to generalize people as an ethnic/religious group or an entire nation by characterizing them as if they're all the same.
