The key is to first visit every base and battleship in the system so that you can quickly determine the best trade routes, as you would have had to do in vanilla if you weren't using a mod. I am now saving up for a certain $4 million fighter ship sold on a certain battleship in a certain Liberty system before I do the mission from California Minor.
