they are not that mindless if you take the FL story - think of the overtaken humans which was the most powerfull of their factions - if they was their slaves it must have been the plan of the DKs (just a mind game ofc.) then. A single ally for a fleet of obedience slaves... well, would not be that hard to think of, for the DKs, if you ask me - also it would put the Players into trouble because of their reputations to the DKs "shall i defend or run?!".
