maybe not the best - but one method to at least show them there is a portal where you can find valuable information. If you wont lock it for registered users - just make it available here with a site of few describtions, advertisement and a download link at all. I mean if people can download it freely from moddb why they ever should visit the portal then - there is no linkage between both and that is lacking.
