Ahhhh... Well, I've had this happen more times than I can count, even back during 1.7. There are probably two solutions you can try that will get you out of there: 1. The less destructive way, try to get exactly centered up in the docking port(try using your left, right UP AND DOWN strafes to do this, it's the easiest way) facing right next to the exterior docking bay doors.
