It is not too difficult in my opinion, a challenge if your not doing open SP anyway. Difference there of course is that one has missions required too level/rank up and one does not. I have been trying out the SP every once in a while and I think it is not too hard. Sometimes I think the difficulty or AI even got lowered a little.
