Had to load 1.8 twice. I elected not to restore backups and went ahead a loaded 1.8 again. It worked the second time. The problem was copying a OpenSP M07 mission file from the Installer to the Freelancer program file. I figured that overwriting the file twice may get through the failed to copy error and it did.
