Ccleaner is just a temporary file cleaner, and registry cleaner, it wont do any good for viruses. My advice, get spybot search and destroy, its a great spyware remover, and is completely free. For a good AV you could try Avast, my 2 roomates use it and it seems to work great for them.

Well I know from personal experiance that Mcafee is a major resource hog, and slows the comp down to a crawl. As for the spy emergency, I would personally not use anything that ends in "emergency 2008"
