Hi all, My PC (I built in late 1999) has given me so many probs lately that I have to say I won't be flying with you all anytime soon. It figures that when I was getting more available free time that this would happen Anyway....its not a virus, malware, spyware or anything else......I have reinstalled windows twice already......seems that some component of my mobo is going bad I can get windows working for like 15-20 mins and then it starts just rebooting and rebooting and rebooting. Thanks....i'll keep working on it.....this time i'll strip the pc to nothing and start checking/cleaning all connections, drivers etc as I go. LOL I guess I should slipstream sp3 onto a disk to speed up the process and maybe avoid something thats happening? Cya in space ASAP

Well I thik its the video card....I have tweaked all settings and go a little more stability but still not right. Anyway I don't have access to any spare parts and no available cash for a new card so I'll juust try to get it running stable at very low resolution and try again. PS I'm gonna try playing with new settings....I'll try not to cause probs for others or the server....if I disappear suddenly, you'll know what happened

The vcard is ATI Radeon 9550 AGP 256mb.....I have disabled fast wrtites etc thru bios which helped a little bit. Vcard only has a heatsink....no fan. Still waitig to hear back from ATI regarding the card. The card is approx 3 mos old...it worked fine for approx 2 weeks and has caused issues ever since then. I'll check out advance system care v3 and see if it helps me at all. I did get on and play.....just random crashes still but it doesn't seem to affect others at least:)

Thanks for the helpThe problem has progressed and is now much worse.....i had the latest drivers, latest mobo bios........latest everything. I rolled back to xp sp2 reinstalled driver from microsoft update, i have removed memery and tried different configs.......at this point even xp screen saver crashes the system to bsod. I'll uninstall everything and try one more time with this card. It will be a couple days before I try again as I'm just really not in the mood to screw with this thing any l…

Well, here I go trying again....lolI reinstalled everything from scratch and started with fresh xp and only the video card in the system.....so far it seems stable so I'm gonna try to install CF...here's to crossed fingers and toes Edit: arrrrrrrrrr that didn't work either I guess I'll try and use onboard mobo vga and see if my system is stable?

I don't think my problem is related to CF. From what I can tell its a problem between chipset drivers and vcard driver. I just need to find the right combination to get this darn thing running correctly again. My mobo is msi ms-6533g-l , sis650 nothbridge, sis 961 southbridge. The drivers avaiable (as well as support for old mobos is pretty terrible. I'm gonna try installing chipset drivers from sis to see if I get a stable setup.......here's to hoping for better luck Yea.....latest testing ind…

ARRRRRRRWell, I had this stupid pc running correctly for a few days, but now I'm back to continuous crashes.......at this point I can't play any games at all I guess I'll miss the release of 1.8 [3] I hope to see you all soon.
