Hamburg.. Berlin.. Dresden.. Those would be my choices, but as to how many days you will need to explore them.. I don't really know. I spent 3 weeks in Berlin and didn't see everything.. Yes, Dresden is in the former East Germay.. and it was heavily bombed during WWII.. that is true. Before that, it was the most beautiful city in Deutschland. I understand that much of it is still intact, or has been rebuilt, since the war.. definitely worth the trip! 4 days each in 5 German cities? Nice! Too bad about the GPS.. lol.. well, I guess you could just 'pretend' to get lost.. hehe.
