You could also try to execute FLMM.exe or CF setup as Admin AND activate compability mode XP or Win 2000 - It helped guys who had problems with FLMM, but I dont know how it is with CF Mod because it is a larger installation - Just try But you maybe need to reinstall Freelancer first before it works because CF needs a clean installation and after this problem it maybe isnt clean now...

Then you maybe have to try compability mode Win XP or Win 2000 - the only idea which i have to solve the problem... btw, if you dont know, afaik with vista you have the right do "downgrade" to XP system for free
