Sorry for jumping in with no knowledge. Once i had the same problem while installing - the launcher wasn´t updating itself. Because i have CF on more than one Computer i copied the freelancer and CFWD.exe from a working copy to the new copy, the Launcher was coming up with 1.56 made the updates and all was fine Hope it will give a hint...
