(Quote from Pakundo) 1280 / 720 = 16 /9 or 16:9 <== the aspect ratio Field of View, X (FOVX) is the relative width of the screen for a given height. (Quote from Pakundo) Changing fovx is the important part. Changing fonts.ini is up to you. For your screen, you probably do not need to modify fonts.ini at all. Or, at least, not much. Note that Freelancer does not need all of the precision you might see... two or three digits to the right of the decimal is enough precision.

(Quote from Pakundo) What do you mean by "cropped up"? Post a screen shot. Changing the fonts is straightforward. If you want a font to be 10% smaller, then make the number in fonts.ini 10% smaller. Adjust numbers as you like. Start with one font to get the idea, then scale the other fonts similarly.

(Quote from Pakundo) No, the font size only changes the size of the fonts. The menus remain the same. In fact, none of the INI files changes the size of the menus (hex edits can change the menu size, but the Crossfire launcher will overwrite your changed files). Changing your screen resolution will make the menus appear to be "smaller" in relation to the screen, but that is only because your screen is larger. The menus themselves remain the same. A screenshot of what you are looking at would he…

(Quote from Pakundo) You originally asked about 1280 x 720 resolution (16:9). Obviously, 1920 x 1200 (16:10) is different. Both fovx and font sizes will be different between those two resolutions. If you know how to post a screenshot, then why don't you do it, instead of asking half-questions without giving us enough information to understand what you want to do? The difficulty with making a mod for fonts.ini -- or even listing "good" font sizes -- is that they vary by screen resolution, font t…

(Quote from Pakundo) It looks as though your FOVX values are wrong. Show us your cameras.ini. JFLP is the easiest and best solution for widescreen support. The second best choice for your screen (1280x720) is to use the 16:9 values for FOVX that I gave you when you first asked: FL on Widescreen, Post #26 ; ===========; For 16:9 use:; ===========[ThirdPersonCamera]fovx = 86 [TurretCamera]fovx = 86 [RearViewCamera]fovx = 86 [WinCamera]fovx = 69

(Quote from 2l84that) The only thing to change is the fovx values in Cameras.ini. Fonts are unimportant because the *height* of your screen is only slightly taller than 1280 x 1024. 1900x1200 is 16:10. Either use the 16:10 values or, better, use jflp.dll. Luckily, jflp.dll is built into Crossfire. Unfortunately, the version of jflp.dll in Crossfire is bugged, but OP has the fixed version. So just bug OP to put the fixed version into the Launcher, and you will be done!

There is nothing wrong with jflp. It is completely stable. And it is by far the best way to get wide screen support in Freelancer. Here is another thread about jflp for Crossfire which includes a working DLL. The only problem is the that the launcher overwrites the DLL, so the bottom line is that you still have to wait for OP to release the fixed version.
