Ha, yeah, good advice! I played it when it first came out but I don't remember it being nearly this tough! Awesome, awesome mod though, all around. I bitch about it a little in my first LP set (which is up now at http://www.youtube.com/user/ReymasofAshborne - hope you guys will check it out) but that's cuz I am just not prepared for how hard it is and severely out-of-practice!

My next task in the LP is to go bounty hunting for level 1 baddies and try to make enough money to buy a new ship.

Hey everyone! Just registered on the forums because I recently picked up Crossfire. I haven't played Freelancer since it first came out but this mod inspired me to add it to my "Let's Play" line-up on youtube (not going to advertise the link out of respect, if you want to find my channel just search 'reymasofashborne'). A big thanks to SWAT for making this mod, it is overall very impressive!

However, after my first set, which is uploading now, I wanted to ask about the difficulty. I know it is indeed 'not for sissies' but I do have some gripes. Even in the first escort mission with King I am getting obliterated, which is not all that much fun for an LP audience to watch. I am playing the single-player campaign for the LP, not logging into the server, incidentally. I get that the enemies are smarter and more cunning, but the fact that they simply have an ungodly amount of health compared to me is a bit unbalanced, imo. The AI is far superior but that would be more than enough to make the game more challenging.

Also, I am seeing ships able to barrel roll and maneuver in ways that I do not have controls for (rotate clockwise etc are not working for me) so do I need some sort of upgraded thrusters to be able to roll or is that something AI can do and players cannot?
Lastly, for the entertainment of my LP audience as I said (so it's just not me trying to whittle away at an enemy's shields and then dying over and over, hopelessly outgunned), is there a way to adjust the difficulty, in the INI perhaps? Not the AI, they are awesome, but simply the buffs that all the enemy ships seem to have that make them virtually impenetrable?

I could be wrong and after the first mission it tapers off a bit, but man those rogues were ROUGH TRADE!
Also, I could just be missing some functionality completely that would help me get the better of my opponents. Any advice would be helpful!
