    by the time this happens, Freelancer will be an "old game" and almost no one will play it. Am i just wastin my time even thinking this will happen?

    when i said about the differient types of turrets i didnt mean to make differient hardpoints. Let the players costomize how many of eac tye they want. ;) make all the Hp's the same, like "battleship turret" and make all the differient turrets fit onto the same type of hardpoint. so you could make tour bs to fight better againsed another bs or fighters oor a mix of both. 8)
    and then you could buy and sel to change it whenever you want.


    as for the thing about leaving a mod. i thing its stupid to so willingly let someone leave when theres such a low population that plays freelancer!

    to answer your question,


    no battleships are not "useless". though i do agree with you a bit on the power issue, (with battleships having more power because their much more expensive), i think it would unbalance the game a bit. unless they were to have some good way to balance them, i would not suggest incresing their power (armor, wep damage). the main thing i was asking for was to #1: make each class more even to the other ships in its class, so people who are a fan of a certain ship dont get dissapointed when a ship of the same class has so much more power then it. this seems to be ok with gunboats and battleships, but when it comes to middle class cruisers and dest's the kusari dest is WAY overpowered, i of course noticed this because im a fan of the liberty cruiser. many people but the kusari dest because of its unbalanced stats when they may, in fact, like the liberty or rhineland cruisers more. someone b4 tried to make a literall explaination about how kusari has more technology so their better....but if your going to take it literal, then we could just say that battleships get 100000000 armor and no shields and uber turrets and stuff...because they ARE, literally, supposed to be stronger.....dont try literal explainations to me. [12] #2 was to add more customability to the cap ships, again, not more power, but more choice of equips like turret types: primary, secondary, teritary, defence, flak, missile, and forward guns. i was VERY dissapointed when i found out you could not get the forward gun for the liberty cruiser. i mean, just look at the ship! the main thing you see in a liberty cruiser is the huge forward gun on the front, right? forward guns should also be added to all the gunboats, like in that title screen where the bretonia gunboat kills the kusari BS.


    also another issue that coms up in many mods is the fact that cap ships get hit arround like fighters. im currently working on this issue and swat seems to be "considering" it. [10]


    saying that "a capship should never get killed by a fighter. ever." does make sence, but would really unbalance the game. even though it does look silly for weps that cost 1 mil to be doing the same damage as weps that cost 10 mil. (ppc, battlsship defence) even though it dosent make literal sence, all ships should have an equal chance to beat each other. :)


    here are my ideas for the capship turrets if you wanted to know (valuse are rated one to five) :


    Primary: damage=4, refire=2, speed=1, range=4 (main anti-battleship turret)
    Secondary: damage=3, refire=2, speed=3, range=3 (main anti-cruiser turret)
    Teritary: damage=2, refire=2, speed=4, range=3 (main anti- gunboat/VHF turret)
    Defence: damage=1, refire=5, speed=5, range=1 (defence anti-fighter turret)
    Missile: damage=3, refire=1, speed=4(?), range=4 (main anti-fighter turret)
    Flak: damage=2, refire=4, speed=3, range=2 (anti-munition/fighter turret)
    Forward Gun: damage=5, refire=1, speed=2, range=5 (anti-capship/station (mission) gun [un-aimable])

    gunny, if you want to close the topic why dont you just push the "lock topic" button..im sure you admins have it somewhere.


    also...i dont think its right for admins to kill people (me...but saxon said they did it to him too). cause 1: i was in an event. 2: i had done nothing wrong. and 3: its nearly impossible to kill someone who kills you in 2 hits and has the best defences on the whole game.

    uhhh...yea...


    some people use them...but unless you have the almost unfairly fast kusari destroyer....you almost awlays lose the battle....


    also there is an outrageously small number of turret choices avaliable!


    there are technically 4...but because 2 are just "better then the others" with no downside, buying the cheaper 2 almost has no purpose...plus..to get the "better 2" you have to lug you big slow ship all the way to sovet. witch can get very annoying....plus..the turret choices almost become 1 because flack turrets only work like their supposed to sometimes (e.g. they explode on your ship and dont move) and even when the do hit the other ship your aiming for...they do very little damage..making the 10 mil you pay for each of them REALLY not worth it...


    also... the only turrets you can get look very small on all cap ships...and look like kusair turrets. you cant get liberty turrets for your liberty ship, or rhineland turrets for your rhineland battleship. it sux.


    also they are VERY expensive for what you actullay GET...they have very little chance of winning a battle with any normal player in a fighter that costs like 40 times LESS... with a normal shadowblade with 4 ppc's could kill and cap ship surprisingly fast and live with just a little dodging...because cap ships turrets projectils move too slow.


    WHOEVER HANDELS THE PATCHER NEEDS TO REBALANCE THIS A LITTLE BIT PLEASE!!! [3] FOR TE COST OF THESE RIGS WE SHOULD GET A LITTLE MORE OUT OF THEM...AND WHY DO THE KUSARI DESTROYER, RHINELAND CRUISER, AND LIBERTY CRUISER ALL COST THE SAME, WHEN THE KUSARI IS SO UNFAIRLY BETTER?!?! [12]
