RC2...and I've got just under 1TB of HDD..soon to be 1.5TB...so space isn't a problem for me. I want RTM cause I like vista.

Actualy to be honest, I got the shock of my life when I first popped the disc into my Drive for installation...first up, it loaded vista onto my computer is under half the time that XP takes to installs..and that's a hell of a size difference there, secondly, I had no speed issues at all with vista, it actualy performs much faster than I've ever had XP go. Vista like XP is going to run into the same people created problems, there is an actualy system requirment for it, much like games, you go under those requirments and it's gonna run like shit. I mean I work with computers, fixing them and stuff, and the amount of times people came in bitching cause their computer is soooooo sloooow....and then you check and it has XP installed with only a 20gig drive, 128meg ram and 700mhz processor...cause it's gonna run slow...hell for XP to operate properly it needs at least 1gig or ram, otherwise it spends all it's time reading and writing to the pagefile. You just have to make sure that if you get vista, your machine can handle it. I've just done another upgrade to mine as I look toward Unreal Tournament 2007 being released...now that is something I really really want. So, the moral to this story....if you wanna go 4 wheel driving...buy a 4 wheel drive...don't try and take The Love Bug bush bashing, you won't get far.

Well I Dual-boot my system, I currently have 32bit XP and 64bit Vista Ultimate installed on my system. Most of the problems I've encountered in Vista already have a fix, you just have to wait for the final release to get them...I've been running everything I can get my hands on and sending error reports to Microsoft if it goes wrong. I tried Freelancer on vista and used XP compatibility..didn't have a problem. The only big problem people will have with Vista is DRM. I have a Friend who works for Microsoft, and he said it's the worst thing they put into it...other than that, I've been happy with it, looks wonderful, runs soooo smooth...and to be honest, seeing the power of my dual-core 64bit processor actually at work was a joy to behold...means I didn't spend that money for nothing.

I was just wondering if the thought increasing the tradelane speeds has ever been considered. I tried one mod, and I would have to say it's best feature was the 10k speed tradelanes. Just an idea.

well, first off, this is a totaly clean re-install of Freelancer as I didn't load it up after rebuilding machine, so it's clean as with no other previously installed mods.

    Any Idea's now?

Oh, I've also rebooted the machine and the modem to be sure.

And this is the report from my speed test for my ISP

    Your Results

I also have problems accessing this web site and the forums.

I'm hoping someone can help me here. I can't seem to get a stable connection the CF server. I have a 1.5mbit connection that works fine in everything other than when trying to connect to the server. I have no other software running, nothing is downloading, updating or anything else, yet I get a near constant red lan lag light while ingame. If anyone could offer any suggestions, they would be muchly appreciated.

Yah, I've seen the power, shield and armour upgrades....if I got the 9mill power generator, what kind of difference will that make to weapon recharge? Does it supply more power for when your fighting, or does it make power regeneration faster?

Hiya, I would like a bit of help if someone would oblige. I've managed to get hold of a decent ship, but I seem to be having trouble with weapons. The guns I have, though fairly powerfull still take me ages to kill something. I either run out of energy, or the targets are moving to fast for me to hit properly. Would someone with experience be able to tell me a good combination of weapons to have. I have 6 slots on my ship. Currently I have 2 gatts, 2 vulcan and um, 2 I can't remember, but the refire rate is slow on 4 of them, the most powerfull of the ones I got. Any idea's on good combinations would be muchly appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance

Well I've been playing a bit now, was a while before anyone would speak to me, but overall it's been okay. As for the mod itself I am VERY IMPRESSED, looks good, feels good and some nice effects. I like the Earth system, kewl tradelanes and inersystem gates. Just trying to find a decent ship and weapons now, trying to do missions to get pods, but is hard without good weapons, but I'll make it. Thanks to those who helped me a bit at the start, is much appreciated and thanks to SWAT for making this wicked mod.

Hiya, I'm about to be noobie on Crossfire, first time playing it. It's been a while since I played the game, let alone a mod, so if anyone can give me any tips on what's best to do at start that would be muchly appreciated. Hope to see some friendly people soon.
