Well, Deva station needs to be shot down entirely. Just a few shots won't do. And since it's a wreck it could be that someone has been looting it before you. About the motherships, I have no idea why they dissapear, but only the motherships in the Vortex will give you the DKA's

I have an idea, yes.
If the server just kicked you, that may have been the ping check and you might have had a very high ping. Thus, you might have lagged alot and when you go through a gate, you actually got through space real fast, it's not really instantaneous. And if you have lag, you won't go that fast, you'll go fast, stop for a sec, go fast, etc., etc. So maybe during once of these stops, you were in the sun corona or a planet's atmosphere.
This is only an idea as I said, it's kind of the same thing that happens when you go to Hiruga with lag.Grtz

next time you want to change stuff, use the 'restore back-ups' option FLMM has. It is in one of the drop-down menu's, not difficult to find. After that, you can activate CF again with no probs.

As far as I understand it's just random, not based on player actions. That doesnt mean it isnt a nice thought that players would have influence, but it would probably be hard to realise and it might even be rejected, because the 'uber-traderoutes' could be 'created'.

There's no real point in the first place. The new systems are all hidden, so they'd show up as Death Valley on the old map, so it wouldn't really make any difference anyway.

he's right on windows firewall, I had experience with its imperfections and I trust him when he says nvidia is made of fail.
The only firewall I trust is Symantec/Norton, but those might be a bit consuming for people who don't have the best computers.Grtz
