You can't have a top notch game without some Germans working on it ;-)

I believe they open the office in Frankfurt to be convenient for the ex Crytek employees that joined and are finishing the FPS piece of the game. Manchester UK is the single player group headed by Chris' brother Erin. Austin TX USA is the persistent universe group and the main office is in Los Angeles CA USA. Oh, I believe the web side is done out of Montreal Canada.

Update from the CIG Monthly Report:
"t’s no secret that having a distributed development structure presents
challenges as much as it provides advantages. At the outset of Star
Citizen I decided that I wanted to go where the talent was rather than
try to make the talent come to where I was. Without this approach we
wouldn’t have some of the most talented people in the industry working
on star Citizen. There are people in Los Angeles, Austin, Manchester and
Frankfurt that are only working on this game because we have offices in
these locations. We truly have a WORLD CLASS team ...
... We are actively hiring in Manchester and Frankfurt to build up the ship, environment, prop and character teams and in all locations to bolster the engineering teams."

    So send resume :-)

p.s. To all my friends in Deutschland: CIG, the Star Citizen company, has an office in Frankfurt now. Look them up, maybe they give you a tour, lot's of backers have toured the Austin & Los Angeles offices.

I wanted to say thank you, and being a Star Citizen backer I posted the following on their forums:

"The download took 6.5 hours ... & it was worth every minute! This Freelancer Mod is the defining version of the historic game. Every detail has been given attention. I could not be more impressed, Crossfire Team you have my great gratitude & many thanks.

To anyone considering dusting off your old copy of Freelancer, join the Crossfire community & begin downloading (maybe before your next work shift). Follow the instructions carefully (they are complete, step by step & easy to follow), and enjoy something truly awesome. Modders For-The-Win!"

Crossfire 2.0 Team, you have really created a special work here. This is really the defining Freelancer mod, thanks again for giving me a reason to keep playing the 12 year old game I love. Maybe someday you'll give Star Citizen the same treatment, I can only hope ;-)

@ GodEatGod: There were fly for free codes after Gamescom & Dragoncon conventions, watch for another after Citizencon in October.

@ Everyone: Great discussion, my humble suggestion, Star Citizen forum accounts are free so please everyone make one & post. The game designers over there seem to follow popular opinion, so get vocal and make them make the game we want. Most of all make them be open to modding Star Citizen and being able to run private servers. The more it's like Freelancer the better, how cool would "Star Citizen: Crossfire" be 10 years from now? I'm kidding, sort of, but you get the idea, Modders = Better!

@ Swat_Op-R8R: Great thanks & much love for making my favorite game better than ever & keeping the dream alive, 12 years+ still defining the genre.
