In order to use the Wii online you need all the updates took me 1.5hrs on 500kb/s to download all)

if your router acts as a 'DHCP Server' it will automatically generate an IP for the Wii, If it does not, you will need to enter a new IP into the Wii via the connection menu.

Btw, i warn you - the wii will take ages downloading updates on its first use

if ur still using USB - then it will only transfer at USB rate. USB 2.0 will be better, but Ethernet will rule the way! Last time i used a USB Ethernet - it caused all sorts of problems.

If you're using a desktop PC, get an Ethernet PCI card if necessary.

If Laptop, get a PCMCIA Card with ethernet.

Use System Restore then update your ethernet drivers.

Crucial will garranty that it supports your system/mobo. I bought 8GB of RAM there, 2GBx4 and it works a treat on my gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 mobo. I highly recommend them
