For a "clean" new instalation you must delete the savegames too.

In Win7 savegames are in:
Bibliotheken/Dokumente/Eigene Dokumente/My Games/Freelancer/Accts/SinglePlayer

I have read various comments on the internet that say

the initial level is too difficult

and play the game (without inside tips to get a better ship).
And yes its too difficult.
it is a low level ship not even possible on the main routes to change the territories.

Hi Guys I`m another new one

I go the - Wing Commander - Privateer - Starlancer - Way to Freelancer.
I play many Mods (much are very good).
But Crossfire is by far the best. Its more - its Freelancer II.

So i wait for Crossfire 2.0
