I started playing Crossfire a few days ago.
So far I am enjoying the destruction of all those Battleships I never could destroy in vanilla Freelancer.
Flying a Sabre by Mission 3 certainly has its advantages 
But knowing myself I will eventually want to play vanilla Freelancer someday.
Is there any chance the mod-authors would offer a Crossfire Light package - one that only improves the graphics without any changes to the gameplay?
Actually I wonder why they haven't offered this already. It would be hugely popular. Just look at the Elder Scrolls/Fallout modding scene. The most popular mods are the ones that don't touch the gameplay at all, but improve the textures and the overall visual appearance of the game.
Crossfire may be the biggest mod (sizewise) for Freelancer, but still I kinda had to stumble upon it. And I would never have tried it, if it wasn't for a recommendation. If the graphics improvements were to be released separately, they would become THE MUST HAVE mod for EVERYONE playing Freelancer.
