I have several alts that have not done the Romulan Epohh mission and I can verify this is the case. They have winter tags but the mission is grey to them. My alts that have received a normal Epohh can do the mission just fine.

Ok... STO has not only given us the ability to upgrade our Breen Space gear...but now they have given us a warp core/singularity core and additional set bonus with the winter event. I wanted to start this thread to discuss the good, bad and ugly around this space set. Where do you see this set finding a home?
To remind everyone what we are discussing here are some screen shots of the original set plus cores
I find this set interesting but difficult to place. It has good power transfer boosts and good defenses against a lot of secondary effects. The flow capacitor and graviton buffs are weak. The shield is excellent for its mark level. To me this seems to feel like a science set with good power level maintenance. This set really boosts any power transfer abilities and Aux2Bat builds might shine with this. I don't see an obvious use for a Tactical captain but an Engineer or Science captain who runs a tetryon or poleron Aux2Bat beam build may find this set to be useful.
One thing to note is the stats we are looking at are mk XI and I do not know what additional buffs might be present as this set gets upgraded.
Any thoughts?

Here is a heads up... If you have not completed one of the Epohh research missions on New Romulus the winter Epohh missions will be greyed out and you will not be able to get a winter Epohh.

So now that you have played around with the Aux2B and the EPtW... which do you prefer?

I'm thinking I want to get Varus into that Winter Event ship. Does anyone have any good strategies for the winter event?
For the many years I have played the winter event was always my least favorite, but now that I am interested in one of the rewards I am looking for the fastest way through this event.

I'm curious...why the Assimilated Space set?

The only thing we can hope for with the space set is that the stat bumps with upgrades are better than average. (But I wouldn't hold my breath)

There is an earlier thread speculating upon the exact details of the T-6 ship traits. Since I have a lot of these ships I thought I would post screen shots of each T-6 ship and their associated mastery traits so we all can see what the benefits for each trait is. If anyone has screenshots of the lock box ships with the mastery displayed, send them to me an I will format and add them.
-
I will look up the rates... I believe the scryer buff is 7.5%, the battle ready trait is +7.5 def each stack, and desperate repair is 25k hp... I will take screen shots

All of them are useful in their own way. I think the Fed ones are just ok with the tanking traits being the most useful. The Romulan ship traits are very good for DPS in a race that already has a DPS edge. The two Klingon ship traits don't synergize quite as well since one is more of a beam buff and the other a really good cannon buff. I am assuming more ships will be coming out with their won traits so we will see what combinations will prevail. For now, I wouldn't knock an additional ability that can improve my effectiveness, especially since I can slot 4 of these traits.

I bought the pack and have toons in all of the T6 ships (all 3 races) and one thing no one is talking about is the fact that when you unlock the ship mastery it becomes a trait that your toon can use in any ship. I am finding great benefit in cross training on as many T6 ships as possible just to unlock the mastery traits on my toon.

I have looked at the Delta space set... is it me or is it just a bit underwhelming?
-
It is down... boo!

My Science alt uses gravimetric torpedoes and I notice that the AoE effect they trigger every once and a while is greatly effected by my exotic damage bonus. In fact... the AoE does significantly more damage than the torpedo itself. That would violate that chart if I am reading it correctly...
-
I have always used torpedoes in my builds for that big pop when I have knocked out the opponent's shields. One of the things I have noticed is on Advanced difficulty the hull damage resists are so large that I am no longer seeing the burst damage that the torp was giving me. I use plasma torps so the burn still works quite nicely but I am starting to think that, unless they adjust the mechanics for torpedoes, that torpedoes in their current incarnation are obsolete.
Thoughts?

I thought Emergency Power was bonus power... It does not take away from Aux, Shields, Mv or Wpns.
-
I use EPtW because of the +13.3% boost to all damage and +31 to weapon power for 15 seconds. Aux2Bat, I believe, only keeps your power levels up. I'm looking for a large increase in my base damage rates. I think it is a 45sec CD though... but Damage Control Engineers reduce the cool down a lot. I have it running on around a 30 second CD. I have it on an EP rotation... 15 seconds to shields, 15 seconds to weapons.
-
Another consideration is that my fleet warp core gives me a damage boost for every power slot over 75 (3.3% bonus). With plasmonic leach I am always over 75 on all... (usually around 120 on all). So I'm not sure I even need Aux2Bat with my BOff and Doff set up. I dont want to lose that extra damage plus my science abilities for what amounts to a few additional points of power. Tomok runs a T5-U avenger with a dual plasma beam build. Just trying to figure out how to increase his dps...
I might have to post his build in another thread and solicit comments.

I have used Aux2Bat and EP2W at times and am still undecided on the benefits. I like the overall boost Aux2Bat gives but dislike how it cripples my science abilities when active... while on the other hand EP2W really boosts damage but takes cycles from EP2S and relies on power transfer skill to be really effective.
Does anyone have good stats about the pros and cons of these engineering skills?
