I assume you are both referring to the "Interface" activation options for the HUD. As stated in my first post I've tried this. I made attempts with CF Gold, Original Freelancer Blue and Blue/Red. Blue/Red looks great! (Once I got the menus working) But I still had my "black screen".
I'm not running an OS from XP to Win7. I'll make another attempt if I get some suggestions that sound like they might have an effect. (Anyone running Win 2000 with CF 1.9 ?)

I resolved my "menus problem" - if I exited FL, started again and loaded a save game everything appeared correctly.
But I still can't play...
I downloaded the Mod again - same problems. I've been through every different graphics activation I can try.
I've even downloaded CF 1.8 and that was worse - it played the "intro" videos and then dumped me at desktop with an error. Didn't even get to a menu. Thanks for the advice Michael & Martind, but I've spent 2 weeks on this getting no-where and I'm giving up. I'll go back to standard FL and other games.
Please close the thread.

Hi - I've been installing/activating/uninstalling, etc for a week and trying different activation settings.
Problem occurs exactly the same in both SP and MP - same problem every time.
My system: AMD Athlon 1.7GHz, Windows 2000. 256MB Invidia GeForce 6200. (FLMM 1.31 and Crossfire 1.9)Fresh install of FL each time, save folders deleted, files are not marked read-only. I've followed installation and activation instructions. (No error messages during installation or activation. Anti-virus deactivated.)
Once everything is installed & activated, I go through the patching and start Crossfire SP. The Crossfire Menu displays correctly and the cut-scenes to begin also run fine.Problems:
1. All my menu's (or drop-downs... F1, Settings, Nav map, Inventory, Rep, Info, Bar, Equipment, etc) have NO border or background. The text is displayed over the top of the active screen graphics.
2. Once I launch my ship - everything is BLACK. I have a white glow that marks the sun's position, and sometimes small color flecks of a ship/station. Its like my screen is using very dark sunglasses. BUT - If I select "Rear View" or "Turret View" then the screen display is normal - I see everything properly. [ I have screenshots ]I'm working my way through all the different activation settings related to Graphics. Any suggestions to stop this happening???
Thanks and regards
TarmorUPDATE: I've tried changing the Interface Colours, all Adv Shader options, and the compat Old Graphics Cards. No changes to what occurs. I'm going to try Shift+F12 with Adv shaders, and I'm downloading the Mod again in case my copy is corrupted or missing something. (I had already checked that I have the latest update for my Graphics card.) Thanks for the suggestions!
