After going through numerous things

in game and out, I have finally found what the problem is.

If anyone else has the

problems of their their computer rebooting when they go through a jump gate - Go into your

Options in the game and disable the 3D sound.

I am so bloody stupid, why I didnt

think of something that simple earlier. [11]

There is

no error message, as soon as i get into the next system - the computer physically

reboots.

And yes, I have

no other mods activated, and all other programs are shut down apart from the ones I need.

Although it says it has been downloaded 1500 times, please take into accunt that could

be many players like me who have downloaded it several times to try different ways of

getting it to work.

As I said before, all my drivers are up to date, I'm

not a noob when it comes to computers.

I shouldnt have to do a check on every piece

of hardware in my computer just because I cannot use the mod. I have used the same mods as

Phoenix has, and had no problems with those mods, nor had to reinstall freelancer.

So if I am running a higher spec pc, i shouldnt be

having these problems.

512 meg Ram DDR, On board sound MSI KT 3, GForce FX 5600

with 256 Ram, AMD 2.4, Virtual memory adjust by window (which is not being readjusted at

all), running Windows XP. All drivers are upto date.

I completely removed all traces

of Freelancer, did a fresh reinstall and its still rebooting.

This is ridiculous, I

have never had any problems using other mods. Do I have to go and buy the state of the art

computer just to play the mod? The mod should be able to play on any computer providing it

is powerful enough, and mine is. Having to go through a checklist is ridiculous, I should

just be able to play the mod without any problems at all.

First of all, my computer

is powerful enough to run this mod.

Second, if everytime i download this mod it is

being corrupted, how else am I going to download it?

Third, I have 3 other friends

who have downloaded this mod who are having the same problem as I am. If the mod had no

bugs, then I should have been able to download it, activate and play it without any

problems.

Lol, what have my temperory internet files got to do with a

game? My memory is fine, I have got 512 ram.

The mod hasnt been tested properly and

thoroughly, apparently, I am not the only one with this problem, as I was told yesterday

there are several other players with the same problem I am having.

Right, I have done the above, have tried

going thru a jump gate 7 times, and each time my computer has rebooted.

Can someone

please tell me what is going wrong here, because I should just be able to load the darn mod

and play on the server without my computer keeping rebooting.

want to play this mod, and I am getting really low on patience now.

Sorry, but this is doing my head in. I really want to play with this

mod on your server, but I am having this serious problem of everytime I go through a jump

gate into a system, my computer reboots completely. I thought it might be conflicting with

the SP mod addon so I removed it and reinstalled the Crossfire mod again, and I had to

travel back to the jump gate being thrown away from the gate 150k, I tried going through to

Colorado, and my computer rebooted again.

I have no programs running in the

background apart from Team Speak, but something is wrong and I need help sorting this. I

really want to play on your server, but I really dont fancy my computer rebooting everytime

I go into another system and travelling around 150k back to the nearest trade

lane.

I also downloaded the single player mod, and I bought some

prisoners, went through the jump gate into Texas, and my computer rebooted.

I have downloaded the mod, installed it using mod manager, but when I click on the

Crossfire server to play, it says the operation is taking longer than expected, press Escape

to exit.

Is it me having probs, or the server? Can someone please help, I would

greatly appreciate it
