How do I turn off the bloom effect?

It's been a while since I played Freelancer so I don't exactly remember if it was a problem for the original game, although I don't think it is. Basically the bloom effect of the game is blinding my view, especially when the cruise engine activate, I can't see a thing and sometime just hit asteroids mid flight Is there a way to turn off the bloom effect? I checked the option but don't see the option in game. Thanks in advance.
