In preparation for its September 24 launch, XPand
Rally has received a variety of new maps including NASCAR and DESTRUCTION tracks. Most of
these maps have been created by "modders" for the mod-friendy rally racer.
The new
tracks include:
dirt racing track - 100 per cent gravel, eight-shaped, many
obstacles to avoid, located in the Arizona canyons
destruction derby track -
100 per cent tarmac, eight-shaped, narrow turns and short straights, spectacular crashes are
always a possibility at the perilous crossing
NASCAR tri-oval - based on the
DAYTONA INT'L SPEEDWAY track. The oval should be especially interesting since, as the
author claims, it is based on the real track dimensions. While testing the track, Techland
discovered that the strongest XR cars (power around 730 PS and torque up to 1000 nm) were
able to race at 190mph (305kmh), recreating the exact mix of power and danger that this
sport boasts.
Techland promised to make all custom tracks accessible through its
website, as soon as they are tested for game quality compliance.
Xpand Rally hits the
shelves on September 24th and features: 30 plus tracks and over 70 races in the career mode,
35 rally cars in eight divisions and over 800 tuning parts to choose from. Multiplayer game
with up to 4 players on LAN and Internet with several racing modes including off road free
style.
For all modding enthusiasts a set of editing tools, allowing the creation of
users' own tracks and cars, is also provided with the
game.
