Changing Menu Audio

  • First of all, you need to have a .wav file that works in FL to play in the background.

    To get a working wav do the following:

    First off, you must convert the music you want to add into wav format. It does not matter on the sampling rate. Some people say the wav file must be 22 kHz, but I'm here to tell you that you can add a wav file that is 44 kHz. I have done it myself. In order to convert the music you want into wav format, you need a good converter. I have Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum in which I use Soundstream to convert my music from mp3 to wma or wav format. if you can't find a copy of EZCD 5, then I recommend you do a search on the internet particularly GOOGLE and type in "Audio Converter". Browse around until you find a fairly cheap, free, or shareware program that will accomplish the task. For those of you who do use EZCD 5, you should know how to convert to different formats already.

    Now you've done that, you need to add the music entry

    Go to: Freelancer\DATA\Audio\music.ini

    and add the following:

    [Music]
    nickname = My_Music1 <--------choose a nickname
    type = music
    file = AUDIO\MUSIC\mymusic1.wav <--------change to your wav name.
    attenuation = 8
    streamer = true

    now you've added that, you're ready to add it to the Menu's.

    To do this go to: Freelancer\DATA\UNIVERSE\SYSTEMS\INTRO\BASES\ROOMS

    Now to change your music to your own. Open the 3 ini files you see there and change the line:

    music = intro

    to

    music = My_Music1 <--------your music nickname.

    There you go, should work fine
