Another screenshot from my WoT Frontline replays.
Emil I is a Swedish Tier VIII Heavy tank. Originally, Project Emil (Also known as Kranvagn or KRV, lit. "self-propelled crane") was a Swedish heavy tank project that didn't go further three projects and two prototype chassis. In World of Tanks, it is represented by Emil I and premium Emil 1951 at Tier VIII, Emil II at Tier IX and Kranvagn at Tier X.
Emil I is quite a controversional vehicle with many drawbacks. Its advantages are centered around terrain play and hull-down: thick turret front, amazing gun depression angle (Emils are the only heavies with 12 degree gun dep) and tiny hull which is easy to hide. It also has a drum type 4-shot autoloader with its own drawbacks (long drum reload time) and advantages (burst damage capability). Strangely, I enjoyed playing this chibi tank, at least in Frontline. But maybe that's because I never played autoloader heavies. Not to mention that it looks cute.
Also, this "heavy tank" weights less than some medium tanks. See that T-44 at the background? Its hull is bigger.

You haven't seen Grille 15 yet...
(Official WoT Site Tankopedia link for Grille 15)
But yeah, Emil I has both quite a long gun in a large oscillating turret and a tiny hull.
As a result, it weights about 29-30 tons.
As I heard, Project Emil was developed with Swedish terrain peculiarities in mind, and hull size and weight were a part of it.
Also, due to oscillating turret, when it raises/lowers its gun, the entire turret (aside from the front plate) moves along with it.

Also, WG plans on upping Swedish heavies... but so far that buff looks more like a nerf; they plan on removing one shell from the drum (but reducing intra-clip and drum reload as well as buffing alpha damage for a DPM increase)... but the DPM wasn't the worst of Kranvagn's troubles.
