  • no worries, take the time you need. is there anything we can do to help? for example - audio files for that new faction - stories/rumours for the bars
  • great but, let me ask: do you already have a name for that new faction? if not, i suggest the following (with downward preference): - Ardennes (similarities to players or RL persons is pure coincidence) - Burgundy - Normandy what about names for station, ships, pilots, NPCs in bars etc.?
  • what about baguettes and croissants? and Spätburgunder Halbtrocken?
  • since we still don't know the names of that new faction and their bases i decided to make a short audio example how the faction could introduce itself. i chose "Normandy" as factions-name and "Bourdoux station" as a name for a station. i could of course produce others and more, maybe also with female voice. but i need a list of names. (download, cut the .txt-extension, play)
  • (Quote from dark68360)we need a good name for a new faction. think about the other faction: Americans --> Liberty Japanese --> Kusary Germans --> Rheinland UK --> Bretonia the new faction are French. but how we shall call them in Crossfire? my idea was "Normandy". but hopefully u have a better one
  • well, my favourite was "Ardenne". but from you PoV that might be a bad idea too because of that "Bataille des Ardennes", right? my son's favourite was Réunion. sounds good, but is near Africa ... doesn't really fit, imo.
  • if we have enough good ideas we could make a poll to vote democratically. last word has OP of course. but maybe we could give him some inspiration to continue his work
  • lol but, Renaissance is really a good name
  • since Ranaissance seems to be the name of that new faction with the most votes in that poll (link) i have created 2 audio-files. if needed i could make more, also with female voices and for bases etc.. unfortunately Audacity does not provide good distortions for audio files, or at least i didnt find the best one yet. see attachments (delete the .txt-extension and play).
  • many thanks to (IOC)Wanderer who has much more knowledge and experience in editing audio files he analysed original Freelancer samples, compared them with the average spectrum of my voice samples, built a filter which brings the two as close as possible, prepared a small manual how to apply this filter etc. with Audacity. the results u find attached (cut the .txt and play), they sound much better and Freelancer-like. with this we could provide more samples. what could be helpful: a list of name…
