QuoteDisplay MoreRecharging NPC shields – REQUIRES FREELANCER MOD MANAGER 1.3
Replaces NPC shields, recharging at 1 hitpoint per second, with the same shields the player can purchase, with matching recharge rates.
As a side effect, these shields start dropping as loot from downed NPCs as these shields are defined to drop. (Multiplayer PvP? I never tried that.)
Use the prompt on mod activation to optionally disable their dropping (default: not disabled), just like the NPC shields never drop. Otherwise enjoy the extra influx of space dollarinos from more vendor trash.
Rebuilt with inspiration from DalWill's work documented at Lancersreactor.org
Note: This also means that this is currently a like-for-like swap of PC shield class for NPC shield class (1 through 10) under observance of the respective NPC's ship class (LF, HF, FR, VHF, where HF and VHF both get the same HF shield). No further attempt was made to observe balance, such looking at the actual NPC shield hitpoints and selecting a PC shield that best matches that hitpoint count. As such, this mod may make some or all shielded NPCs more or less difficult to kill.
