Hello Scarface135.
The mining ship is operated just like any other ship in game. Its unique features include only a relatively big cargo hold (for capital-ship-type vessel) and a built-in laser for drilling megaroids (the huge rocks you can find in mineable zones). Destroying rocks and collecting loot is still a manual process.

Your question is specific to Crossfire Mod, therefore it's better to use this board rather then general Freelancer section.

Are the miners defensively, or even offensively armed? Thanks.

Hello wombat!
Yes, apart from the mining laser, a very powerful weapon but difficult to aim, the mining ship is equipped with 4 turrets for defence. They have a short range but decent damage (enough to protect yourself from a pirate or two).

..and a very strong armour,if you buy armor upgrade for it, you can park literally in to the sun with it!Also it has big cargo hold, perfect ship for smuggling,i mean mining
