Late last night, the Mars Science Laboratory mission successfully delivered the Curiosity rover to the surface of Mars! Watching the telemetry live in #Wingnut was exhilarating, and the results are just fantastic. Preliminary images (pictured black & white below) show the rover on flat solid ground, and the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter even snapped a shot of the landing vehicle with its parachute deployed.
