  • Clan Management and Contest System


    Clans are playing a very big role in Freelancer. So they do for Crossfire. Clans often keep the role-play running or initiate new role-play situations. They help new players and those who belong to their members. In other words "they are important". It is time to give something back to them


    In Crossfire we have many clans. Most of them belong to the official server clans and therefor own a home system. We were thinking for quiet a while about something that would allow clans to expand their territory and take indirect benefit from it.
    No we do not wish them to control all the systems and tell players what they can do and what they can't do. That is clearly not going to happen!


    We have developed the Crossfire Contest System to allow clans to gain control over satellite systems around their clan system. These systems are considered supportive systems for the clans while none of the clan rules apply there. The clan itself takes only the benefit of FAME and financial profit from these systems. The bigger a clan's territory is, the bigger will be the income for that clan.
    In order to take control over such a system the clans have to fulfill special tasks as delivering special goods from their home system to the planets and stations of that new system. Delivering supplies grants you the loyalty of a system.


    What one clan can do can also be done by other clans. The clan which supports a system best will gain control while the other clans just can do another try. Disturbance of supply routes are of course expected and will for sure lead to some serious weapon fire at the border lines.


    That's the new Crossfire Contest System, active on the upcoming Crossfire 1.9 server.

  • Interesting concepts never stop flowing from all you creaters...well done 8). While LP is a small caln and sure not to have much expanded space, I still support the concept and applaud the ingenuity of you guys working on the Mod :thumbsup:

  • Maybe to remain fair, a chance to "relocate" rented systems should be given for clans
    situated in isolated areas? As it seems now being close to a quick route is not the only
    important point?

  • It's going to be a gold rush in x systems while SA will just sit back, lit a cigar, pour a glass of whiskey and watch the money flow to them :D

    LOL :D ROFL :D ... Maybe will be better wait a little, and evaluate situation when will be whole conquest system finished. It was for SA risky choose very frequently used system, and maybe it will be now little advantage. But what is once advantage can be changed to disadvantage quickly ... so things like this are very relative.

  • i like the concept. how it will be measure the supply to nearby systems with npcs?
    Another interesting thing is the fact some base will be hostile due the licences... so not all factions on same system systems will conquered.
    This will make people trade and spent more time online. with trades there will be pirates and cops and jobs for mercs :thumbsup:

  • working on the web portal where i hope to give clan s functions such as "trade/surrender a system", "view supplies count" and "daily log of what's going on".


    Marauder : since i code that portal, ofc there will be tons of hidden scripts that will make supplies of every clan count for SA also... :D meaning you all combined will never conquer us !!! :bhohoho:

    i would be interested in getting it included into the new CF page.... along with all external information (stats, ASF/CSF results, wiki,.... )

  • when 1.9 is out we will update the 1.82 wiki for 1.9 and will send you the php files, containing pictures and sql database. The php files can be integrated in any exsisting cms or layout (only 40 files). It´s not a big deal. Integrating other parts is possible with basic php and html knowledge - the files don´t have copywrite problems cause they was self coded (not as nice and structured as Huors ones but functional and fast). We just have to rebuild the Database for 1.9 which sadly will be a big deal.

  • that or we could release our Hospital DB v1.82 (that will become 1.9) that is the most detailed navigation DB there is with best looking pics... Uh, no it's private to SA and friends :D
