Ah yes, 2010 is soon to be here............. 2010 A Space Odyssey was released many years ago and I wonder how close we are to making that journey?

happy new year. and gunny we had the technology to go all the way to Jupiter since the 1980's. The only problem is MONEY. To make such a trip would cost billions if not trillions of dollars. I also doubt that there is anyone willing to spend 6 years of their life in a spaceship and 6 years back just to find what a bunch of rocks? The same could be done with a WAY less expensive probe.

I am not so good at words and i think this is the first post here, sory guys, but I want to send all one things, "Happy New Years"

I am aware that we have such technology, but its much more than money that prevents this from occuring. Navigation, telemetry and fuel are larger issues. Nuke power ( although unlimited) needs to be harnessed correctly as not to compromise the integrity of the hull, is only one.

At 41 years old, I've been on this topic for some time.
