Today (30th October) during Frontier Unlocked #10 stream were released news related to new features coming "soonTM" into Elite Dangerous. Short summary is comning below:

Elite Dangerous: Ascendancy update
- This update will come live tomorrow - 31th October. Part of this update is release of Power Play version 2, which will quite fundamentally change this part of ED and this time will have visible impact on pledged player during his stay in his Power's ruled systems an on hostile grounds (which will be any other Power). Every Power will have access to all special equipment (related to PP) eventhough in different order based on player ranking for his chosen Power. One from numerous changes are also "on-foot" missions as a part of PP2.
- Part of this update will be relase of new ship: Mandalay, which will be available in the Early access (can be purchased only via ARX currency). The Early access period is currently set for 3 months, ... after will be (should be) possible purchase new ship with the ingame credits_.

T-8 Heavy will come out of the Early access
This new (2024) medium cargo ship, which is now in the Early Access, will be available for ingame credits_ on 28th November
New Feature - Colonisation
Was announced that players will be able colonise so far unhabitated systems in the Milky Way. Only minimum information was released yet, but this infact means player's driven change to the game on galaxy scale. Saying that this is a huge change is understatement ... it is something what players have always asked for and it also means that technical state of the game is now ready to finally use the most unique part of Elite Dangerous which is scale of the game.

New Ship - Cobra_ Mk V
Was shown first images of fourth new ship coming into game in 2024 ... which is multirole medium size vessel. This ship should come with completely new cockpit.
