Display MoreThough the wait for a new Mass Effect game continues for the time being, BioWare is currently set to give fans a re-release of the original epic space RPG. Following the exploits of Commander Shepard, the trilogy-spanning Mass Effect Legendary Edition is boasting a number of exciting visual upgrades and gameplay tweaks to the original experience. However, it appears the remaster will also have new music contributed to the upcoming `release.
Recently taking to Twitter, long-time Mass Effect series composer Sam Hulick confirmed that at least one new piece of music will be included in Mass Effect Legendary Edition. While not revealing too much about the new tune or which game players might hear it in, Hulick teased it would be ”a killer remix of an old, unused track,” suggesting the song would be something fans haven’t yet heard before.

Having previously worked on music for all three Mass Effect games, Hulick and fellow series composer Jack Wall have contributed to quite a few of the trilogy’s most memorable scenes such as the Galaxy Map theme, the thrilling Suicide Mission from ME2, as well as the beautifully-scored ending of ME3. The music from BioWare’s sci-fi trilogy is often the subject of immense praise and seeing just a little bit more surface in time for the remastered Legendary Edition is sure to be a treat for fans.
Sam Hulick is cited as a central composer for Mass Effect 3, but the series’ music is mostly known the talents of Jack Wall, who headed the soundtracks for the original two Mass Effect games. Starting with 2017’s Andromeda, BioWare and EA would move forward without either of the two at the helm, with Spider-Man: Miles Morales composer John Paesano contributing his own uniquely magnificent score. However, with Mass Effect keen on reviving the franchise’s past for the next installment, it’s possible Sam Hulick and Jack Wall might also be primed for a return.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition releases May 14th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with next-gen upgrades also confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
