Display MoreHot off the news of Anthem’s lead producer Ben Irving leaving BioWare, it has been revealed that another key member of the BioWare team is heading for different pastures. It has been announced that today was the last day for Fernando Melo, former Senior Producer for Dragon Age 4. Melo worked as a Senior Producer on Dragon Age Origins and its sequel, as well as companion apps for various games. Check out his announcement via Twitter below:

In his farewell email to the company (shared within the Tweet thread), Melo talks a little bit about the state of the new Dragon Age project:
With a great game leadership team in place, a fantastic creative vision, and some of the best devs in the world, [the next Dragon Age game] is well underway to becoming the definitive Dragon Age experience”
Despite Melo’s departure, it sounds like Dragon Age may potentially be in a better place relative to Anthem. Anthem’s service model relies on a steady stream of new content for players, and losing a team leader in the midst of developing that is arguably worse than losing one before a game comes out. That said, any departure from a company is a sad one, and DFTG wishes Fernando Melo all the best with whatever comes next for him.
